This isn’t some niche of Republicans with Nazi-sympathetic ideologies. Turning Point has national traction in conservative and libertarian politics as well as an alliance with Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. On Jan. 6, 2021, Turning Point Action, a TPUSA affiliate, deployed seven buses with about 350 people total to the Capitol rally. Stony Brook permitting members of the Capitol rally to organize on campus is like having a Stony Brook Proud Boys club.

How do you translate the energy and feeling of a live show — the crowd singing along, watching the lines around a concert venue with excitement — into a virtual production with an audience stuck at home? How does new music, intended to shake a room, get converted into a virtual experience? For Brockhampton, achieving that feat means utilizing the tools in their playbook that make for a great live show, and adapting them.

Representatives from the Member Action Coalition SBU (MAC), a caucus within the United University Professions (UUP) union, are pushing back against the university’s demands for professional staff to return to campus. The concerned faculty and staff — who do not speak for UUP — allege the move violates a state-wide, union-negotiated telecommuting agreement with SUNY set to expire April 2.

In the same way that we respond to pain in one part of the body as something to remedy immediately, we should see it as our priority to alleviate the pain of the many people and natural elements constituting our economic body. Our inability to do so is our tragedy.

This year, as part of an annual tradition, we’re sharing our favorite songs of the summer. We’re a little late this time, but considering the concept of time has lost all meaning in 2020, we’re going ahead with it anyway.
