A fire alarm was triggered in West Side Dining tonight at approximately 9:50 PM. The alarm was set off by smoke that was vented into the basement of the building instead of outside , a police lieutenant said.
The smoke did not cause an actual fire in the building.
“Nobody hurt, nothing damaged,” said police.
This is the second time a fire alarm has been set off in four days at West Side Dining. “First the food in West Side, now this,” said Brandon Hanar, a Stony Brook senior.
Police were not able to confirm if the new structure was causing the issue or if it was temporary.
