The metric is an impressive achievement as far as gauging a nation’s productive capacities. However, it has nothing substantive to say about the actual progress or well-being of a society.

Despite slight modifications, complaints about “the youth” have remained consistent since the ‘60s: Kids are narcissistic, entitled, overly sensitive, strangely consumed with technology and the opinions of others, and lacking in motivation.
The latter part of the 2010s has proven to be nothing short of a hellscape of scandal, opinions and angry mobs. It’s a cultural phenomenon called “The Culture Wars”, and the deeper into it we get, the more divided we seem to become, with the left calling for the right to be punched and harassed, the right calling for the left to be “owned” and “triggered,” and both calling for the shutting-up of those damn centrist “fence-sitters” who have committed the unearthly sins of being politically open-minded and legitimately hearing both sides out.
As some may find this month the perfect time to profess their love to another, what with Valentine’s day and all, I wanted to stress upon those who are single to not place any pressure on yourself to find love. It shall come when the time is right.
When we think of the apocalypse, a couple of images come to mind. There are the grand displays of alien motherships, staffed with plunderers from another world invading our own. But reality paints a different picture.
