Long-rumored cuts and consolidations of academic departments may be on the way much sooner than previously thought, according to members of the Provost search committee at Stony Brook.
In an effort to avoid cutting academic programs, the provost’s office is relying on a few common methods (like trimming administrative cuts), and some unorthodox methods as well: a “three semester year” and offering classes at 7:00am.
