Minimalist producer Nicolas Jaar has just released a new single, titled “Don’t Break My Love,” on his own label. The first 5 minutes of the track are clearly influenced by early 00s acts such as Jimmy Tamborello (Dntel, Figurine, The Postal Service), Ms. John Soda and other minimalist artists — but with a dash of R&B and funk. The last minute brings funk to the forefront with a driving beat and haunting sampled vocals. Hear it below:
