An in your face approach to fellow students may be more beneficial rather than days when they look on as bystanders. (The people organizing those event days, like Earth Stock, would not like it but I think in hindsight they would understand.) Perhaps student rallies can be held during campus events, like Earth Stock, Roth Pond Rigatta or the day when all the clubs try to recruit new members.
