Had the Palestinians not embraced violence and adopted a Ghandian approach to their struggle, they would have had their own independent state generations ago. And it would have been the Israelis who would have gladly helped them get their shit together. Instead, today we have seen Israeli unilaterally leave the Gaza territories only to see an escalation of violence from that area. Sadly, the Palestinians are more determined to destroy Israel than in their own self-determination. Violence in that area will only end between these peoples when the Palestinians, in the words of Golda Meir, love themselves and their children more than they hate the Jews.
